Iron Oxide Pigment For Mortar

Iron Oxide Pigment For Mortar

Iron oxide pigments produce vibrant, long-lasting colors in concrete and other cementitious materials. Iron oxide pigments are light resistant, insoluble and alkali resistant. This means that iron oxide pigments do not deteriorate over time and are easily visible in concrete. Due to their small size, ten times smaller than cement particles, iron oxide pigments are dispersed in the mixture, embedded in the cement matrix and give a uniform coloring appearance.

When used in standard dosages, iron oxide pigments do not affect the strength or ease of concrete. They offer many benefits to concrete contractors, architects, ready-mix concrete producers and manufacturers of precast concrete products. Iron oxide pigments can greatly enhance the value of concrete. By adding color, concrete is more attractive and offers color-related properties such as solar reflectivity.

Chengyu Colors uses only the highest quality synthetic iron oxides to mix dry, liquid and granular pigments for concrete and mortar colors.

Chengyu Colors provides industry-leading iron oxide pigments, automatic dispensers and customer service to ready-mix concrete producers, architectural precast concrete producers or block and paver manufacturers.

Benefits of Iron Oxide Pigments For Motor

Iron oxide can be used to produce a range of shades including red, brown, yellow and black. Combined, this offers the potential for a wide range of options. The earthy tones that can be achieved with iron oxide pigments are ideally suited to the needs of the concrete industry. Included:

Cost effective
Non-toxic
Color stability
Durable and weather resistant
Lightfastness
Cement compatible
Highly resistant to UV exposure
Generally high coloring power
Many of the same advantages make iron oxide also widely used as a pigment in the roofing granule industry.

How to use iron oxide pigment for motor

The amount of iron oxide pigment for motor is limited to 1% to 10%. Exceeding the upper limit will reduce the mechanical strength of the products. Generally 5%~8% is appropriate.
Iron oxide pigment does not contain two compounds, lead oxide and zinc oxide, which will affect the setting time and strength.
Sometimes, concrete products need to be cured at temperatures and pressures above 200°C. Therefore, black iron oxide and brown iron oxide, which can be converted to red iron oxide at 180°C, must be heat stabilized.
Cement concrete pavement mixed with iron oxide pigment should not be too thick at one time. Generally not more than 20cm. too thick will cause the waste of iron oxide pigment for concrete, which is not economical and cannot guarantee the quality of concrete itself.

Common applications of iron oxide

        Building materials.

        Universal coloring systems.

Why is iron oxide so popular in construction?

Iron oxide pigments produce rich, long-lasting color in concrete and other cementitious materials. This pigment has five basic components that explain it:
Good weathering resistance.
good light resistance.
Excellent resistance of concrete to alkaline environments
tinting power (hence vibrant colors).
Fine dispersion
This means that iron oxide pigments do not deteriorate over time through a variety of irritations such as rain, extreme UV exposure and shoe rubbing. Therefore, it is assumed that a good and long-lasting color for concrete can be achieved with just one iron oxide.
